Network monitoring vendor Savvius taps Australian channel chief

The Australian distributor for network performance vendor Savvius hopes to drive more partner sales with the appointment of a dedicated channel manager.

Phil Lancaster has been retasked from his role as chief commercial officer of the company's distributor, InTechnology, to become the dedicated Australia and New Zealand channel manager for Savvius.

InTechnology had represented Savvius in Australia since 2011, under its previous name WildPackets. The pair have now strengthened their partnership by agreeing to exclusivity.

The pair hopes this new investment will drive demand of the Savvius portfolio, which includes Omnipeek packet analysis software, Omnipliance high-speed packet capture and analysis appliance and the Savvius Insight micro appliance for network management and security in remote offices.

The latest member of the portfolio is the Omnipliance Ultra, a new version of the appliance featuring Savvius Spotlight, which "dynamically ranks every transaction across the network".

Savvius has also announced that its PartnerOne channel program is now available in Australia. It includes a front-end deal registration program and customised, on-premises sales training along with online technical training.
