Australian reseller MSY Technology is looking to bring its famously clunky website into the 21st century with a new online store.
The online retailer is looking to recruit new staff to its IT team to help implement a new eCommerce platform based on Magento.
Magento is an open-source platform geared towards medium-sized retailers, that offers enterprise software that doesn't including hosting, or a platform-as-a-service hosted on AWS.
MSY told CRN that its current e-commerce system couldn’t meet growing business demands, and that the project could be outsourced if a suitable candidate wasn't found.
The company is advertising for two new positions: a Magento developer and a full stack developer. The job listing said that MSY s looking to extend its site functionality with options for shipment, payment, promotion and fulfilment methods.
The full stack developer will develop in-house software to suit day-to-day business needs and integrate data from back-end services.

MSY has become infamous among the tech community for its lacklustre user interface and functionality.
The reseller's website went online in 2002 and has gone largely unchanged since 2009 other than minor improvements over time. The site has copped flak from customers for its outdated UI, such as each link opening or new tab or a PDF file.
