Ingram Micro has announced changes to its senior leadership team for Australia and New Zealand, with ANZ SVP and chief country executive Tim Ament to return to the United States.
Hope McGarry will take over as managing director for Australia, while Leon De Suza continues as managing director in New Zealand.
Both will report to Diego Utge, executive vice president and group president of Asia Pacific.
The leadership changes take effect from 31 March 2025, with Ament moving to the role of senior vice president US sales and services, reporting to US chief country executive Bill Brandel.
Ament's mandate in Australia was "to build and grow the ANZ business and create a long-term succession plan for the region", the company stated.
During his five-year tenure in Australia, Ament oversaw significant developments including the launch of Xvantage, the company's AI-powered digital platform, in Australia and New Zealand. He also led the transformation of the Australian and New Zealand leadership teams.
"I would like to thank the Australian partners and vendors for their relationships, and accepting me into their community," Ament said. “I truly appreciate the mateship which I look forward to continuing in my new role.”
He said the appointments are aligned with Ingram Micro’s “ongoing succession plan and commitment to promoting from within.”
"I'm thrilled to announce Hope's promotion to managing director of the Australian business, and I'm proud of the exceptional team we have in place, representing such diverse backgrounds, experience and thinking", Ament added.
“Hope’s experience and reputation in the market, together with the overall leadership experience, position us well to execute our plans for 2025 and beyond as a people-first platform company.”
McGarry joined Ingram Micro in late 2022 and the company described her as having been a “driving force” in strengthening its market presence, including onboarding key vendors and a “pivotal role” in expanding its advanced solutions, specialty and commercial businesses.
She recently took on additional responsibilities in Ingram Micro’s cloud and hybrid business applications business.
"It's a privilege and honour to lead Ingram Micro as we embark on the next stage of our transformation journey in Australia," McGarry said.
"We are well positioned to redefine distribution in this market through our unwavering focus on our customers and close collaboration with our vendors", McGarry added.
