Kyndryl has named Graeme Beardsell as its new MD for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), based in Melbourne.
He takes over from Ashish Kumar, who was recently appointed as Kyndryl’s global collaborative leader, based in India.
Prior to joining Kyndryl, Beardsell served as the APAC CEO of Fujitsu. He has held key leadership positions at Akamai, Experian, Salesforce, and IBM in the Asia Pacific region.
As well as expanding Kyndryl’s market presence through industry-aligned capabilities, he will also support Kyndryl’s ongoing local commitment to develop technology skills within underrepresented communities, including through its partnership with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
As an inaugural grantee of the Kyndryl Foundation, Kyndryl and UTS have provided cybersecurity training to 397 students and individuals working in the not-for-profit sector and will continue to provide fully funded training for up to 1,412 learners by June 2027.
Kyndryl's strategic markets president, Petra Goude, said Beardsell's expertise in AI, cloud computing, consulting, data and cybersecurity services, combined with his market acumen and people-focused approach will be an invaluable asset to Kyndryl.
"I am delighted to welcome him on board to help our customers translate technology investments into tangible results,” she said.
Beardsell said he is honoured to join Kyndryl and work with customers across the public sector, banking and financial services, energy and utilities and beyond to deliver ongoing and sustainable transformation.
"With deep experience in mission-critical technology systems and a strong partner ecosystem, Kyndryl is well-equipped to help organisations in A/NZ navigate their most complex technology challenges," he said.
"It’s exciting to be part of the company’s next phase of growth."
