Ingram cuts staff in retail restructure

Ingram Micro has cut up to 15 positions from its retail division as part of the division's restructure.

CRN understands that the distributor has made up to 15 staff redundant.

Ingram Micro marketing director Grant Cleary confirmed with CRN that the redundancies have taken place but would not confirm "specific numbers".

Cleary said that some positions that were made redundant were vacant.

Ingram Micro revealed yesterday that it had promoted Danny Kwoh to the newly created role of senior business manager for its retail division.

The staff cuts followed the distributor's decision to restructure its retail division, splitting the sales team into two units and appointing a new division head.

Ingram Micro is also preparing to launch its revamped ecommerce ordering portal TechLink as part of its retail division overhaul.
