Information security providers merge

Two complementary consultancies have banded together to become one of the biggest providers of information security services in South Australia.

CQR Consulting will merge with government specialist TechnoSys, employing 30 staff in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Oxford in Britain. The merged entity will trade as CQR Consulting.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CQR Consulting managing director David Simpson said the two businesses shared common values.

"Both consultancies are fiercely independent of information security product vendors and share a passion for working cooperatively with clients to achieve the best outcomes," Mr Simpson said.

TechnoSys managing director, Jeff Gwatking, who becomes an executive in the new structure, said it would enable the public-sector specialist to offer an "expanded set of services and skills to our existingclients while providing our staff the opportunity of a broader range of clients and projects".

CQR advises on disaster recovery, payment card services, penetration testing, governance, utility systems and a variety of other information security services.
