Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has finally arrived on a tablet – in the form of a video that Nvidia has created to showcase the Tegra 3 chip in the Asus Transformer Prime tablet.
Nvidia has been working hard to adapt the OS for the Transformer Prime since Google released the developer coding for Ice Cream Sandwich a few days ago – and the results are stunning. The Transformer Prime promises 1080p video, hi-res smooth gaming, and a big screen layout for instant access to everything, making the tablet look like a great home for Ice Cream Sandwich. The app and widget pages look a bit low res for the larger display – but this is the product of just three days coding, meaning the final result could be very exciting indeed.
Expect the Asus Transformer Prime with Ice Cream Sandwich to hit UK shores in January 2012 for around £400 ($A639) including the keyboard dock. The Americans have already got the Transformer Prime for pre-order as of today at $US500, but we’d rather wait to get the Android 4.0 version – having fallen in love with Ice Cream Sandwich on the Galaxy Nexus, we can't wait to see it running on a tablet for real.
