Hungry RXP swallows up Sydney IBM partner

Melbourne-headquartered integrator RXP Services has announced its 13th acquisition with the $4.15 million buyout of a Sydney business.

The integrator has bought Centrum Systems, a consulting firm with 29 staff specialising in business process management and with partnerships with IBM and Appian.

The buyout is expected to add at least $500,000 in profit before tax to RXP Services’ 2015 financial year.

The move grows the firm’s Sydney operations to more than 130 people and follows a string of acquisitions in 2013 and 2014.

In March this year, RXP Services bought Hobart Microsoft partner Insight4 for $5.4 million. In May it snapped up Aptus for $1.8 million.

As the firm grows in size it is attracting projects on a larger scale, said chief executive officer Ross Fielding.

“We’re getting more and more larger projects and projects that involve multiple parts of our business and practises. That’s just us maturing. We’re being entrusted to do bigger and bigger things,” he said.

This has already seen a jump in profit after tax in the 2014 financial year, up from $3.5 million to $6.5 million. Staff numbers went from 212 to 420 during that time.

RXP Services’ revenues grew to $56 million for the 2014 financial year.

Fielding said the company already shares “a couple” of common clients with Centrum Systems.

Centrum provides implementation services for companies using Appian, which was ranked by Gartner in the “Leaders” quadrant for Intelligent Business Process Management Suites for 2014.
