Perth-headquartered cybersecurity firm CSO Group and Canberra automation systems and AI integrator xAmplify have announced the appointment of Howard Fyffe as chief revenue officer.

Fyffe joins both organisations, which in June 2024 announced they will merge in the second half of 2024.

He will be responsible for integrating both organisations' sales teams and defining a unified national sales and go-to-market strategy.

“We are thrilled to have an executive of Howard’s calibre join us on our mission to create Australia’s largest home-grown cyber security, AI and automation consulting business," said Michael Simkovic, CSO Group CEO.

"He has proven expertise establishing cyber and technology businesses in the local market and is an exceptional addition to the team.”

xAmplify CEO Wayne Gowland said “Howard’s experience building major global technology brands in Australia will be hugely impactful as we embark on ambitious plans to increase the breadth of our services and scale to meet the needs of our expanding client base."

"We’re delighted to have him in our leadership team as we look to future opportunities once our operations are fully integrated.”

Fyffe has decades of senior technology leadership experience. He launched VAST Data in Australia in 2021, leading a team to record growth and customer adoption for VAST’s AI Data Platform, CSO Group and xAmplify said.

He previously served as Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) country manager for Veritas Technologies and ANZ country manager for Nutanix, where he "drove double-digit growth and adoption of private cloud" in the lead-up to Nutanix’s IPO.

Fyffe had a 14-year career across numerous roles for Cisco Systems in Asia Pacific, Australia, and the United States.

“I could not be more excited to be joining Michael, Wayne and their teams as we look to reshape AI, automation and cyber security for the Australian market," said Fyffe.

"Both of these businesses are category leaders in terms of the innovation and depth of expertise they deliver to clients. Together, they will be transformative.”

“The prospect was too good to turn down: to be able to create a wholly Australian-owned AI, automation and cyber business, and change the game for enterprise and government organisations across Australia spanning industries such as defence, federal and state government, energy, financial services, health, logistics, retail, construction and mining."
