Distribution Central has been appointed to distribute Fujitsu's Eternus storage platform in Australia and New Zealand.
"Market demand for converged data solutions has been growing and our partnership with Fujitsu enhances our ability to… address this opportunity," said Distribution Central's managing director Nick Verykios.
The Fusion Systems brand within Distribution Central will distribute Eternus. The distie said in a statement that the storage technology would also enhance its PODfactory and DC CloudSelect services.
The deal expands Distribution Central's partnership with Fujitsu. The distie has already been selling the Primergy server range, but with the addition of Eternus to the portfolio DC can "now deliver a larger set of pre-defined and reference architecture solutions and can make more 'products-on-demand' available".
Verykios said: "DC has been enabling its partners through our pre-defined and reference architecture multi-vendor solutions delivered through DC PODfactory and DC CloudSelect, but it made sense for us to include Eternus so that our partners can deploy the entire solution through DC."
Dicker Data is Fujitsu's other major distributor in Australia. CRN contacted Fujitsu to verify whether Dicker Data also distributes the Eternus platform, but a response had not been received at the time of writing.
A customer of Fusion Systems, PowerNET, moved from HP to Fujitsu for servers and storage earlier this year. PowerNET business development head Andrew Griffioen said that the quoting process through Fusion Systems was responsive.
"We have found the Fusion Systems team to be efficient and quick to respond to our requests. We've taken advantage of DC’s simplified quoting process for vShape through their DC PODfactory service to provide our customers with fast and accurate vShape quotes," he said.
Back in July, PowerNET attributed its switch from HP to Fujitsu's "aggressive" pricing. In the same month, Fujitsu's ANZ channel manager Daniel Campbell told CRN at its World Tour stop in Sydney that its ANZ channel had grown 274 percent.
Campbell said of the new Eternus distribution deal: "This move will allow us to leverage DC’s substantial expertise in the enterprise storage market."
