New Zealand-founded DataMasque has been selected as a data masking product for Guidewire Cloud, giving insurers a way to generate realistic, de-identified test data without exposing live customer information.
The integrated tool replaces sensitive information with synthetically identical data that stays realistic, functional and consistent across an insurer’s systems.
Guidewire Cloud customers can generate high-fidelity, de-identified copies of their data and return them to development sandboxes, taking the privacy risk out of testing and user-acceptance cycles. It is available exclusively through the AWS Marketplace, letting AWS and Guidewire customers deploy it into their own secure environments.
DataMasque said the tool cuts manual data masking that traditionally takes up to five days down to about 30 minutes.
Because it preserves relational integrity across Guidewire and connected applications, linked policy, claims and customer records stay accurate for end-to-end testing - and the masked data is realistic enough for insurers to train AI models and run analytics without exposing real customer data.
“Seventy to eighty per cent of an organisation’s data footprint lives outside production environments,” said Grant de Leeuw, co-founder and chief executive at DataMasque.
"By partnering with Guidewire, we are ensuring that insurers no longer have to choose between innovation and data protection by providing high-fidelity, usable data that eliminates the compliance friction from cloud migration, analytics and AI development."
DataMasque is backed by Wavemaker Partners, OIF Ventures and Icehouse Ventures.
