In recognition of its contributions to Australia's technology landscape, technology services and and solutions provider Data#3 has been inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame.
The honour, bestowed at a dinner at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, marks a significant milestone in the company's 47-year journey.
The Honourable Grace Grace MP presented the Inductee Trophy to Data#3, acknowledging the firm's sustained excellence and innovative approach in delivering technology solutions across Australia.
This accolade underscores Data#3's pivotal role in shaping Queensland's and Australia's tech sector.
Brad Colledge, chief executive and managing director of Data#3, accepted the award.
"From humble beginnings, Data#3 has risen to become Australia's leading technology services and solutions company," Colledge said, reflecting on the company's growth.
Data#3's roots go back to 1977, when Terry Powell and Graham Clark launched an IT application software business from a Brisbane garage.
The company as we know it emerged in 1984 through a merger with Allbrand Typewriters & Office Machines Pty Ltd.
Over the decades, Data#3 has demonstrated remarkable adaptability in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
"We have navigated the rapidly changing landscape, constantly evolving our solutions and services to solve complex business challenges through innovative technology solutions," Colledge said.
A pivotal moment in Data#3's history came in December 1997 when it went public on the ASX with a market capitalisation of $15 million.
Today, that figure stands at approximately $1.28 billion, due to the company's growth since going public.
With over 1,400 staff across 14 locations, Data#3 has become a familar face in Australia's tech industry, and it was included in the ASX 200 in 2023.
"As we advance into the next AI era, we look forward to collaborating with our customers, partners, shareholders, and community to harness the power of people and technology for a better future," Colledge said.
