After two months without a channel chief, Citrix has appointed Brian McColm as its new channel director for Australia and New Zealand.
McColm fills the role left vacant by Belinda Jurisic, who resigned in March and was later hired by Veeam Software as head of channel sales.
McColm brings more than 25 years of experience across telecommunications, IT and channel to Citrix.
He will work closely with Citrix's partners, distributors and system integrators to accelerate the adoption of Citrix products.
"Citrix represents a new career challenge and one that I’m immensely looking forward to. To be given the opportunity to work with a company that is at the forefront of IT innovation and a skilled team was too good to turn down," McColm said.
McColm spent the past 20 years with networking giant Cisco. He joined the company in 1997 as a partner business manager and was promoted several times throughout his career, most recently to general manager ANZ channel, alliances and distribution.
Citrix vice president for ANZ Les Williamson said: "Our strategy at Citrix Australia and New Zealand is, together with our partners, that we are trusted to enable all businesses to embrace secure digital transformation and new ways of working.
Williamson joined Citrix in January and has previously worked for Cisco for 14 years.
"We need a partner leader of the highest calibre in order to execute upon this strategic intent, and we believe Brian is that person. The market opportunity around digital transformation and new ways of working is an exciting one for Citrix and our partners; McColm will drive a strategic plan to capture these opportunities," Williamson said.
