Citrix has appointed a long-time Cisco executive as its new Australia and New Zealand vice-president.
Les Williamson, who will be based in Melbourne, will report to Stanimira Koleva, Citrix’s vice-president of Asia Pacific and Japan. He replaces Peter Brockhoff, who has retired.
Williamson joined Cisco in 1999, where he led billion-dollar operations covering all aspects of telco, enterprise, SMB and partner landscapes in the ANZ and Asia Pacific regions.
Before that, he served at Ericsson from 1987 to 1999, where his roles included leading the Australian telco business.
Citrix said Williamson had developed a deep understanding of business transformation and leading change during his career.
“Williamson brings to the role extensive experience from across the IT industry and the ability to drive workspace innovation and transformation,” a Citrix spokesperson said.
“He will focus on executing the company’s corporate cloud strategy, and delivering consistent growth across all sectors of the ANZ market.”
The appointment of Williamson comes after Citrix recently lost Rob Willis, who had been vice-president of Asia Pacific operations. Willis left in late 2016 to become Oracle Australia’s managing director.
Citrix reported global revenues of US$3.42 billion (A$4.5 billion) in 2016.
