Asus has been showing off a new laptop, netbook and wearable computer that have been built around thrid party designs.
The company's new premium laptop, the NX90, has been co-designed with Bang and Olufsen and features an 18 inch 1080p screen with stereo speakers mounted on the side and twin trackpads on the keyboard to allow 'intuitive DJ-like control.'
The 4.8kg laptop uses Intel Core i7 quad-core processor line, 120GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM, as well as Nvidia’s GeForce GT335M graphics card. It also has a Blu-ray drive and supports USB 3.0 and should cost around US$2,000.
Also on display was a new Eee PC Seashell by New York designer Karim Rashid. This Atom powered machine uses a soft, rippled outer casing in the new design for a more user friendly feel.
The company's gaming laptop, the G73Jh, is designed with a stealth fighter in mind, with angled edges and a 17.3 inch screen powered by Intel's Core i5 and i7 processors and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics card with 8GB of DDR3 RAM.
Finally Asus has designed a laptop with a bamboo fascia, the U53. The laptop uses the i5 processor and supports USB 3.0.
