WatchGuard Technologies has launched three new Firebox rackmount firewall appliances aimed at MSPs and larger enterprises, pitched as a way to scale security performance without adding operational complexity.
The Firebox M4850, M5850 and M6850 make up three performance tiers and add built-in high-speed networking, with native 25G and 100G connectivity.
WatchGuard claimed it is the first vendor to build an industry-standard OCP 3.0 expansion bay into a firewall platform, which lets all three models deliver 100G networking now while leaving room for future expansion.
The appliances ship with redundant power supplies and hot-swappable fans as standard, which the company positions for mission-critical and campus deployments, and are managed through WatchGuard’s Unified Security Platform alongside its network, endpoint and identity products.
“MSPs and IT teams shouldn’t have to choose between enterprise-grade performance and operational simplicity,” said Andrew Young, chief product officer at WatchGuard.
“With our new high-performance Firebox appliances, we’re enabling partners to confidently support larger, more demanding customer environments while maintaining the streamlined deployment, management, and licensing experience that defines the WatchGuard platform.”
The Firebox M4850, M5850 and M6850 are available now through WatchGuard’s global partner network.
