Phan will strengthen the relationships with HTC's indirect retail channels and is in charge of developing and maintaining go-to-market strategies to launch HTC branded accessories in the region.
"Minh's appointment reflects HTC's commitment to strengthening our relationships with our distributors and retail channel partners" said Anthony Petts, sales and marketing director HTC Corp. A/NZ.
"He is joining our dynamic team at an important time in the company's history, with HTC already launching the Touch HD and Dream in the first quarter of this year.
"Minh's wealth of experience in sales and account management will be valuable in developing go-to-market strategies for our exciting and innovative 2009 product roadmap."
Phan was previously account manager at LG Electronics where he was responsible for developing and maintaining strategies to maximise handset sales and strengthen the channel relationships.
Prior to this, he was key account manager Optus SingTel and NSW sales account manager for Cellnet where he focused on managing client relationships and worked on increasing the market share.
In May 2007, HTC announced the acquisition of Dopod International's subsidiaries in Asia and in June 2007 entered the Australian market with the launch of the HTC Touch, the first in a family of HTC branded smartphones.
More recently HTC launched the HTC Dream, the first Android-powered mobile phone released in Australia, where customers can download a variety of applications from the Android Market to customise their phone.
