TCS and ABB sign multi-year deal to transform global network operations with AI

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a multi-million, multi-year deal with electrification and automation provider ABB to take on end-to-end global network operations for the industrial technology company, expanding a partnership that spans two decades.

Under the agreement, TCS will move beyond its existing infrastructure and application management role to deliver an integrated network-as-a-service model for ABB worldwide.

The two companies have previously partnered on consolidating multiple ERP systems into a unified SAP platform and accelerating cloud adoption. The new deal extends TCS' remit significantly, adding full network operations responsibility to its existing scope.

The work centres on ABB's Future Network Model programme, an enterprise-wide initiative to replace fragmented network environments with a standardised, centrally managed digital infrastructure.

TCS will design, integrate and run ABB's global network ecosystem, orchestrating a multi-vendor environment to deliver consistent operations across ABB's global footprint.

The programme will bring together service integration and management (SIAM), a global network operations centre, advanced security capabilities, and modernised LAN, WAN and software-defined WAN systems under a centralised control framework.
