Bluechip Infotech signs Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise

Bluechip Infotech has signed on to distribute Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise's full range of business communication products and services in Australia.

ALE now has three local distributors, including IP CCTV and unified communications distributor Integrated Products and Sydney-based VExpress.

Bluechip Infotech director of enterprise Phil Lancaster said: "We look forward to offering Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise products to help Bluechip Infotech clients evolve communications for their business and their customers."

Bluechip will soon be able to offer new consumption-based pricing models such as Alcatel-Lucent Network-on-Demand and Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Enterprise Cloud to its partners.

Chris Downes, ALE channel sales director said: "Bluechip is an important player in the Australian IT Midmarket and SMB markets, with an increasing focus on solutions for enterprises.

"Bluechip represents an excellent opportunity for ALE to provide its new consumption-based offering in Australia. Their extensive relationships with managed service providers in Australia offers ALE an attractive new market for these services."

ALE was formed in October 2014 when investment firm China Huaxin acquired Alcatel's enterprise unit for $290 million, spinning it off into a sepereate business called Alcatel Lucent Enterprise. The vendor provides UC, wireless, networking hardware and phone systems to the commercial market.

Bluechip was also the first-ever Australian distributor for Alcatel-Lucent, acquired by Nokia in April 2015 for $21.8 billion.
