Brisbane's Acclario IT and Blue Connections IT in Scoresby, Melbourne say they have both achived the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) / International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 27001:2022 certification.

The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is globally recognised standard for information security management systems.

Achieving the certification highlights a company’s dedication to implementing robust security practices that protect its clients, operations, and supply chain.

Blue Connections is a CRN Australia Impact Awards 2024 finalist and its chief information officer, Cameron Crofts, said the certification was an opportunity to implement operational improvements that deliver lasting value.

That included formalising vendor management and strengthening processes for handling cyber events.

"These measures are not just about meeting today’s challenges; they’re about preparing the company and its entire supply chain for the future," Crofts said.

Microsoft specialist Acclario IT's chief executive Peter Birbeck meanwhile said the operational benefits of the certification have improved the company's efficiency and security.

"We've now identified and mitigate a whole raft of risks out there in market," Birbeck said.

"It comes back to the protection of customer and employee personal private data," he added.
