Avnet signs new storage partner

The deal will see Avnet distribute the Data Domain product portfolio as well as provide services, training and support to the vendor's VAR partners in Australia.

Avnet’s 100 plus storage partners will now be able to offer a variety of storage products ranging from disaster preparedness solutions through to network-based data recovery applications.

Gavin Lawless, general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions Australia, said: “Working with Data Domain will now give us a strategic partner in the storage solutions space. Data Domain is a leader in de-duplication storage systems, which gives Avnet a strong foundation for creating and growing channels for Data Domain in the Australian marketplace."

The partnership follows a distribution agreement announced last month between Avnet and virtualisation software provider Virtual Iron.

Lawless said Avnet will offer specialised tools and training to their business partners to help them accelerate sales and design and implement tailored storage and virtualisation strategies for their customers.

Beth White, vice president of marketing at Data Domain, said the new relationship demonstrates the company’s commitment to the Australian channel.
