ATD Technologies has signed on as the latest distributor of headset vendor Plantronics.
The deal sees ATD taking on the company’s call centre and office headset products and will join master distributor Siemens and recent appointment Anixter.
According to John Sexton, managing director at ATD Technologies, the new range would complement existing vendors like GN Netcom and Claria.
“Plantronics is very well respected in the headset space and cover everything from home VoIP users to the call centre industry,” he said. “They will also offer us avenues into other markets.”
Despite being the third distributor to sign on to carry Plantronics in Australia, Sexton was not concerned about an overly competitive market.
“We have been in the headset market for 10 years so have no problem with working against Siemens,” he said. “Anixter is also data and cabling specialist where we are a communications specialist.”
According to Plantronics A/NZ managing director Graeme Gherbaz, the headset market in Australia was growing considerably thanks to several health, mobility and productivity benefits.
ATD, with its experience in premium communication products and services, would enable the company to continue maximise this growth.
“Their impressive reseller network increases our products' exposure, providing Plantronics with access to potential new customers from SMBs to multinational organisations and government departments,” he said in a statement.
