Alphabet's Nest lands in Australia today with partners iSelect and Optus

A selection of products from Google parent company Alphabet's smart home range Nest will be available to purchase in Australia starting today.

The products on offer include smoke and carbon monoxide alarm Nest Protect for $189, Nest Cam Indoor and Outdoor for $319 each and cloud-based smart detection system Nest Aware for $14.

Australia is the first country in the Asia-Pacific region to launch Nest, and the 13th in the world. The division was founded in 2010 as Nest Labs and was acquired by Google in 2014 for US$3.2 billion.

The Nest range will launch exclusively via insurance firm iSelect.

Customers can purchase products outright or in bundles through iSelect's telco partners Optus, Sumo and Mate Communicate.

“We are excited to offer the Nest products on our brand new eCommerce store from today, as well as help customers unlock additional value by bundling their new Nest purchase with exclusive offers from our range of insurance, utilities and personal finance partners,” said iSelect managing director Scott Wilson.
