Family-operated distributor Alloys said it has bought Exclusive Networks' unified communications division in a move that took effect earlier this month.
The acquistion by the Melbourne-based distributor adds several major brands to its portfolio, including HP Poly, Huddly, Owl Labs, Pexip, Avocor, Realwear and Unify through the deal.
"This was the appropriate time for Exclusive Networks to exit the UC space in ANZ as the company has an unrelenting focus on cybersecurity," Andrew Assad, senior vice president Asia Pacific of Exclusive Networks, said.
"The sale to Alloys allows EXN to focus on what's core to our business," Assad added.
The unified communications business will operate as a separate unit under Martin Callaghan, who transitions from Exclusive Networks along with his team.
"This is an incredible opportunity establishing a Unified Communications business unit to contribute to Alloys' continued growth and success in 2025 and beyond," Martin Callaghan, business unit manager, said.
The integration process has already begun across Alloys' four national distribution centres and showrooms, known for their 39-minute average order turnaround time.
"This acquisition represents a natural extension of our commitment to the Australian market," Paul Harman, chief executive of Alloys, said.
Alloys brings 42 years of industry experience to the unified communications sector, with the deal strengthening its position in the Australian market.
Partners nationwide gain access to an expanded portfolio of solutions while maintaining existing business relationships through the transition.
In April last year, Alloys opened a new distribution centre in Brisbane, as part of its expansion efforts in Australia.
