Akamai signs Tech Data as first local distie

Content delivery network provider Akamai has named Tech Data as its first Australian distributor.

The partnership extends a global deal between the two companies announced last month.

Tech Data’s partners will be able to leverage three of Akamai’s solution suites: web application firewall protection, accelerated performance of web and mobile applications, and enterprise traffic protection & remote application access.

An Akamai spokesperson said these solutions are all cloud and data centre agnostic, and can integrate into existing systems without significant changes to infrastructure or software.

Akamai’s regional vice president – channel sales & alliances Danny Mesrop announced on LinkedIn that the partnership had been extended to Tech Data’s Australian subsidiary, adding: “Recently we announced the North America partnership - fantastic to see those synergies arrive in ANZ.  With the leadership of Wendy O'Keeffe, Ivan Hecimovic [and] Adam Noall this partnership will help drive market leading Cloud & Enterprise Security offerings to our customers.

Akamai’s vice president of global channels Michael McCollough added that the partnership added significant reach to engage with its security partners.

“We are pleased to offer our market-leading services exclusively within its portfolio to help organizations at all stages of digital transformation to leverage best-in-class security and performance to drive their businesses,” McCollough said.
