SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Software maker Adobe Systems on Tuesday said it expects to post fourth quarter profit and revenue at the higher end of its previous range of estimates, fueled by strong demand for its Acrobat and Creative Suite products.
In September, Adobe said it expected profits for the fourth quarter, which ends on 2 December, of 27 US cents to 29 US cents per share, on revenue of US$490 million to US$510 million. The company also said it was seeing solid demand in all of its major geographies.
It also said it still expected to close its acquisition of Macromedia either in late November or in December. Earlier this month it said it won US regulatory approval for the deal that remains subject to approval in a few European jurisdictions. through," he said.
In April, Adobe said it would buy digital animation and design software company Macromedia. The companies compete in the design market, but Adobe's strength is in editing and distributing static content such as text, photos, or graphics.
Macromedia is a leader in animation tools for creating web graphics and advertising and is known for its Flash program.
