Adelaide managed service provider and CRN Fast 50 winner Blackbird IT has aquired South Australian firm Calvert Technologies, as part of its overall growth strategy.
The deal, effective from 1 August 2024, has seen the entire Calvert Technologies team of 13 moving into Blackbird IT's head office in Dulwich, Adelaide.
Calvert Technologies' clients have been assured of business continuity, with no changes to their current operations.
Microsoft partner Calvert Technologies was founded in 1995 by Dean Calvert who is the company's chief executive officer.
It has built a strong reputation over nearly three decades, serving more than 1200 clients across South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The company specialises in managed IT services, cybersecurity, business continuity, and cloud solutions.
Calvert Technologies was recognised in 2019 as a top WatchGuard ANZ partner and the company bought fellow MSP Vivid IT in 2017.
"This collaboration is a celebration of our shared values and commitment to fostering a positive company culture," Richard Stafford, director of Blackbird IT said.
"By doing so, we aim to create even greater value for our clients, partners, and team alike - underscoring our commitment to excellence."
"By bringing together a diverse group of professionals, we enhance our ability to offer a broader range of expertise.
"Tapping into new talent helps us stay innovative and adaptable, driving our continued success," Stafford added.
"Joining forces with Blackbird IT is an exciting opportunity for both our clients and team," Dean Calvert said.
"We look forward to combining our strengths and shared values to drive innovation and growth together," Calvert added.
This deal is part of Blackbird IT's broader strategic growth plan, led by directors Richard Stafford and Ben Corbett.
It follows the company's first acquisition of Sydney-based Autonomous IT in 2022, which facilitated expansion into the New South Wales market.
Blackbird IT was founded in 2007, and rebranded from LeetGeek in 2016.
