One of Australia's longest operating technology retailers, A&R Computer Services, has entered voluntary administration.
A&R, which has operated in South Australia for twenty years, closed its doors on October 19.
According to a report by the ABC, the company employed 37 staff at the time of its collapse and operated via five retail outlets.
A&R's customer sales number featured a recorded message advising customers and business partners that the company has entered voluntary administration - with Paul Jorgensen of Kennedy and Co. taking the reins of the company.
A&R offered computer and accessory sales, whitebox computer assembly, PC repairs, technical support and internet services, and had survived several decades of change in the industry - including the rise of mass merchants and e-commerce as competitive threats.
According to a note on the company's website, A&R's internet customers have been transferred to Adam Internet.
"A&R is in the process of closing their Internet Services, and are negotiating with Adam Internet in order that our customers are not without a service provider," the site read.
"We will be contacting all of our Dial-up customers once we have organised the quickest and easiest method of moving to Adam, while maintaining any remaining prepaid Internet time."
