Acer launches new commercial Ultrabook in Australia

Acer Australia has announced the availability of the TravelMate P645 Series commercial Ultrabooks.

The Acer TravelMate P645 features 4th generation Intel Core processors and battery life of up to 8 hours. Models will be powered by an Intel Core i7 or i5 processor. It supports up to 12GB of DDR3 memory with storage of up to 256GB using SSD storage. It will be available with Windows 8.1, Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit, and Windows 7.

The TravelMate P645 Ultrabook line features a high strength carbon fibre lid that contributes to the lightweight design weighing only 1.5 Kilograms and measuring just 20.57 millimetres. The chiclet keyboard is LED-backlit so you can see the keys in dimly-lit environments.

The TravelMate P645’s 14-inch display is offered in two different resolutions. The full HD high 1920x1080 resolution model uses IPS technology and is supported by dedicated AMD Radeon HD 8750M graphics with 2GB DDR3 VRAM. The HD 1366x768 resolution model uses Intel HD graphics 5000/400.

Both displays are LED-backlit and use Acer's ComfyView anti-glare technology The TravelMate P645 line supports up to two additional displays so users can view a total of three displays simultaneously.

There's an optional Acer ProDock for quick and easy connection and tangle-free cable management. It includes USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Display port, DVI, HDMI, and VGA. Connectivity is covered by Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth. It also supports Near Field Communication (NFC) and a high-def 720p webcam, dual microphones, convenient mute key, high definition audio, and Acer’s new “Purified.Voice,” which enhances voice sound and reduces background noise and keystrokes while conducting video conferences, VoIP or voice recognition.

The TravelMate P645 will have an RRP of between $1,299 to $ 2,999 in Australia. In New Zealand the RRP will be $1,399 to $3,299. The Australia distributors are BlueChip IT, Synnex and XIT Distribution with Dove and Ingram Micro looking after things in New Zealand. It will be available until March 2015.
