Winners of Australia’s biggest tech survey unveiled Tuesday

Over 93,000 items of hardware were rated worth, at a conservative estimate, over $50,000,000. Another 100,000 products were rated in the areas of software and ISP’s.

This is the second year for the R&S Awards and the extensive survey included almost 300 questions that voters could select to answer. Nick Ross, Editor of PC Authority, the magazine known for hard-hitting reviews, is set to host a star-studded event on Tuesday the 27th of November at Star City where he will unveil the results.

“We hoped to break the 10,000 respondent barrier this year, which would have represented a 1500 increase on last year. But the final tally of 14,003 shows just how much this survey caught the imagination of Australian and New Zealand tech buyers,” explained Ross.

Most responses came from PC Authority readers but we’re also grateful for support from the online communities at www.overclockers.com.au, www.whirlpool.net.au and www.atomicmpc.com.au. This all helped make it the most comprehensive tech survey ever undertaken in Australia.

“PC Authority can tell you whether a product is worth buying. But only the tech-buying public can tell you what various products are like to live with - so we asked them. There has been some surprising results but you will have to wait until the R&S awards next week to find out who came through as the big winners... and the big losers” said Ross.
