Victorian NFP Trust for Nature hunts for MSP

Victorian not-for-profit organisation Trust for Nature (TfN) has released a tender seeking an IT partner to manage its technology environment and provide strategic IT leadership through vCIO services.

TfN was established in 1972 through the Victorian Conservation Act and works to accelerate private land conservation in Victoria and help landowners protect nature on their property.

The successful partner will be tasked with delivering proactive monitoring, management, and maintenance of IT infrastructure (devices, servers, networks, endpoints); helpdesk support (business hours with emergency on-call); desktop and application support (Windows, Microsoft 365, Adobe, GIS, Salesforce); and user account and permissions management (Microsoft 365 & Azure AD).

The provider will also be tasked with handling backup and disaster recovery systems; cybersecurity monitoring and response; cloud services management (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, SaaS); hardware lifecycle management and procurement support; and asset tracking and warranty management.

The provider should offer regular patching and protection for all endpoints; advanced threat monitoring and incident response capabilities; effective identity and access control mechanisms; and ongoing training to build staff awareness of cybersecurity risks.

In addition, the provider should also offer comprehensive reviews of security policies and operational practices; adherence to recognised standards such as the ACSC Essential Eight and ISO 27001; and a structured audit process and a roadmap for continuous security enhancement.

The vCIO will be asked to provide strategic IT guidance, including risk management and cybersecurity planning; IT budget planning and cost optimisation; project scoping, planning, and governance; and data privacy and compliance advisory.

The vCIO will also be responsible for the creation and review of IT policies and procedures; technology roadmap updates (quarterly or biannually); and participation in board-level IT risk and planning discussions.

Tenderers must demonstrate proven experience with not-for-profits or similar organisations; delivery of IT services and strategic vCIO consulting; familiarity with Microsoft 365 and modern cloud infrastructure; and strong cybersecurity and privacy compliance knowledge.

The deadline for submission is 15 August, with a decision expected on 9 September.

The start date for the preferred candidate is the end of November 2025.

TfN has approximately 70–80 employees across regional and CBD locations.
