Verizon Business has announced that it is making a renewed push on the IP telephony market with the roll out of a single integrated network-based VoIP platform in early 2007.
The initiative is part of the communication hardware vendor’s plan to extend its full VoIP portfolio to the international market.
A managed IP PBX service has been added and will offers continuous IP PBX management and optimization and aids in the planning, designing, and implementation phases of the service
The current Verizon VoIP portfolio includes IP Integrated Access, Hosted IP Centrex and IP Trunking services.
Verizon has also expanded the range of access methods with BRI PABX connectivity for IP Integrated Access and Ethernet and DSL access for all VoIP network services, now available.
Explaining the initiative Verizon Business vice president of international marketing, John Irvine, said the company’s customers were increasingly moving toward an integrated IP environment.
“VoIP is an enabler in the move toward a single, network-hosted IP environment, where IP-based tools such as VoIP, conferencing and Instant Messaging will all work in harmony to enhance business collaboration and performance,” he said in a statement.
Pricing and exact availability will be announced later in the year.
Verizon Business has operated in Australia since January when Verizon and MCI merged.
