Australian hosting provider VentraIP has continued its acquisition spree by snapping up three hosting companies along with 1000 customers and 2400 active services.

The three companies are On A Cloud, Spiderweb Hosting and Boot Domains, which will all be folded into VentraIP once customers have been merged.

VentraIP chief executive Angelo Giuffrida said the company also has another three acquisitions in the works at the moment, which will be announced shortly.

“As the market continues to consolidate, we are proud to welcome customers from On A Cloud, SpiderWeb Hosting and Boot Domains to the VentraIP Australia family, and we hope they enjoy the great customer service and technical support offered by our local team,” said Guiffrida.

"Last year we focussed our efforts on boosting organic growth through an improved online presence in search engines, customer service and technical support insourcing, and updated products and services with higher value margins. This strategy has proven hugely successful with over 35 percent growth attributed in less than twelve months."

Australia's hosting market has seen massive amounts of consolidation in the past couple of years, VentraIP included.

In January last year, VentraIP acquired Brisbane's Web Access along with 3000 customers and 8000 services, allowing the company to expand into managed services. That was followed up in July when VentraIP acquired 1500 customers from one-man hosting provider Profound Hosting.

VentraIP also gained 4000 shared web hosting customers from Servers Australia in exchange for marketing the company's dedicated servers.

Commenting on his company's acquisition, Spiderweb Hosting's chief technology officer Robert K said: "providing a solid hosting service for clients over the past 8 years has been time-consuming but rewarding at the same time. Before losing focus, I have decided to pass the company over to VentraIP knowing that all services and clients will be looked after as I have done by one of the best providers in the industry."

On A Cloud director Tom Maddison said: "Deciding to sell a business isn't always easy and was not taken lightly, but due to changes in personal circumstances I am unable to devote the time required to provide the high levels of services that customers expect from the Australian hosting industry.

"It is for this reason I chose to approach VentraIP Australia, and after discussions with [them] I felt very confident that they are the best fit to continue to provide the high levels of services and support the On A Cloud customers have had over the years."
