Australian hosting provider VentraIP has acquired 1500 new customers by buying one-man hosting provider Profound Hosting.
Based in South Australia, Profound Hosting provides free and paid hosting services to customers. Owner Tim Owen said he is leaving the business to spend time with his family and to focus on his career working in security at Telstra.
Profound hosting will cease trading as a standalone company as customers and services migrate to VentraIP. To ease the migration, VentraIP is offering customers three months of its paid service for free.
“Profound Hosting has established a reputation of providing free and paid hosting services to many community groups and micro businesses, with a focus on providing quality service and support, and we intend to continue delivering outstanding service to these customers under the VentraIP Australia brand,” said VentraIP chief executive Angelo Giuffrida.
This marks the second acquisition for VentraIP this year; it acquired Brisbane's Web Access in January along with its 3000 customers and 8000 services. The acquisition also gave VentraIP the opportunity to sell managed services for the first time.
Giuffrida hinted that there could be more acquisitions in the future, but VentraIP will focus on organic growth for the remainder of the year.
“We recently launched a brand new range of market-leading web hosting services that has completely changed the game, and after just two weeks on the market we are seeing a 120 percent increase in take up of web hosting services which has taken us by surprise but initial feedback has been extremely positive and we will build upon that”.
VentraIP appeared in the 2016 CRNFast50 with 41 percent growth and $9.2 million in annual revenue.
