Data protection and ransomware recovery vendor Veeam has appointed Macro Zhang as VP of channel strategy for Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ).
Zhang was previously VP of sales for China and replaces Belinda Jurisic, who is taking up the position of global VP of Veeam's sales development representative (SDR) organisation.
Prior to joining Veeam in July 2017, Zhang held several leadership positions at the likes of Citrix, Juniper Networks and Intel.
"I am truly honoured and humbled to take on this role and build upon the great work Belinda and the team have accomplished," said Zhang.
"The opportunity to work closely with our valued channel partners and drive our mutual success is incredibly exciting."
"I have witnessed firsthand the tremendous growth and impact that Veeam has achieved, and with an incredible roadmap ahead of us, I look forward to leveraging my experience and expertise to bring us through to our next chapter of success."
"Together with our partners, we will continue to elevate Veeam's market position and drive innovation in data protection and ransomware recovery across the APJ region."
Veeam said Jurisic's experience makes her well-suited to leading its SDR organisation, which aims to continue modernising the company's sales and marketing strategy.
"The mark of great companies is attracting, retaining and developing great people," said John Jester, CRO at Veeam.
"Belinda has been an outstanding partner leader in APJ and I’m thrilled she’s taken on a new global role."
"While she’ll be missed in APJ, it’s fantastic to have someone of the calibre of Macro to step into the role."
"He’ll continue our focus on our partners and delivering the very best outcomes for our customers. I’m looking forward to the impact they’ll both have in their new roles."
