Vanta adds new Australian data centre and local compliance support

Trust management platform Vanta has announced an expansion of its business in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) with the launch of a new Australian data centre.

This move includes support for local compliance frameworks such as the government's prudential standard CPS 234 and and the Australian Signals Directorate's Essential Eight cyber security measures along with an increased support team in the region.

The Australian data centre, located in Sydney provides ANZ-based organisations with the option to store data securely within the region, making it easier to meet regulatory requirements.

Jonathon Coleman, General Manager, APAC, Vanta, said the expansion gives customers greater control over data storage while ensuring security, accessibility, and compliance.

Vanta's support for the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority's CPS 234 framework is a key feature of this expansion, enabling financial institutions to better protect sensitive data and safeguard against cyber threats.

Vanta helps automate and centralise the compliance process for CPS 234, allowing customers to implement and maintain the required controls with ease.

In addition, Vanta now supports the Essential Eight framework, which is crucial for Australian businesses looking to enhance their cybersecurity defences.

By automating implementation, monitoring, and reporting of Essential Eight compliance, Vanta allows companies to streamline their processes and build trust with customers.

Nathan Miller, head of information security and compliance at analytics firm Dovetail, said Vanta has reduced the time required for SOC 2 audits from sixty hours to just five.

"Doing our SOC 2 audits in Vanta has freed up so much of our time," said Miller.

Vanta has made several hires since opening its Sydne office in 2022.

The company now supports hundreds of customers across various industries, helping them meet both local and international compliance standards with confidence.

Vanta plans to further increase its presence in the region over the next year, continuing to enhance its product offerings and local support.
