Two channel leaders score EY entrepreneur awards

Empired managing director Russell Baskerville and Vintek chief executive Paul Vinton have each won a 2015 EY Entrepreneur of Year regional award.

Baskerville took out the services category in the western region, while Vinton scored the technology award in the central region.

“This award is testament to the continued growth and success of Empired,” said Baskerville. “Empired… has competed against some of the largest IT services companies in the world. It has contracts with the world’s largest mining firms and a range of major state government departments across Australia.”

Baskerville floated the Perth-headquartered Empired on the ASX in 2007, and the company has now grown to 850 staff members spread across 11 branches in four countries.

Vintek is a professional services firm based in downtown Adelaide. Vinton founded the company in 1999, and now oversees 25 employees.

The northern, western and central regional winners have so far been announced, with southern and eastern to follow later this month. The national award ceremony will be held 15 October in Sydney.
