Transport for NSW has extended its partnership with global technology company HCLTech in a new five-year agreement, aimed at transforming transport services for more than 720,000 daily passengers.
The collaboration will deliver end-to-end managed services for business-critical applications, platforms and cloud operations across Transport for NSW's network of 3,200 daily services.
"Our partnership with Transport for NSW is a significant win for HCLTech not just in Australia but within the APAC region," Sonia Eland, executive president and country manager of Australia and New Zealand, HCLTech said.
The agreement focuses on four key priority areas: customer information and payments, operational technologies, emerging technologies, and sustainable enterprise systems.
HCLTech will manage over 260 applications for Transport for NSW, incorporating security services and AI-driven innovation.
The partnership supports major infrastructure projects including the completed Sydney Metro and the new Western Sydney Airport metro railway.
These developments will create a transport spine connecting Greater Sydney to Western Sydney International Airport.
The collaboration aligns with Transport for NSW's Technology Strategy and Future Transport Technology Roadmap.
HCLTech brings two decades of Australian operational experience to the partnership, with more than 2,400 employees across Australia and New Zealand.
The extended agreement aims to build a resilient, reliable, and secure platform for future transport applications and services.
