TL Consulting named APAC partner for JFrog DevSecOps platform

Australian firm TL Consulting has been named as a local partner to deliver the JFrog Platform to organisations across Asia Pacific.

Based in Sydney, TL Consulting is a professional services company that specialises in cloud-native, GitHub and Microsoft DevSecOps implementations.

DevSecOps is a methodology for development that prioritises security throughout the process.

The JFrog Platform product allows organisations to securely build, test and deploy applications for any environment.

JFrog APAC senior vice president Sunny Rao said the company partnered with TL Consulting for its regional and technical knowledge.

“Partnering with TL Consulting, with its extensive APAC market expertise, excellent range of services, and deep understanding of modern cloud and data platforms, made perfect sense for furthering our growth," he said.

TL Consulting’s chief executive Stephen Marryatt added that the partnership demonstrates a commitment to integrating security through the development lifecycle.

“As an accredited GitHub partner, we also see the JFrog-GitHub integration as a game-changer for streamlining workflows to make developers more efficient while strengthening security," he said.

"As the DevOps tool chains have evolved, JFrog has become very embedded within that as well; that's where we're playing and also with some of our strategic road mapping, there's been a real focus to be able to embed JFrog as well.

"If you think of where GitHub is playing primarily around source code management and so forth, having a product like JFrog complements [that] really well, and we saw this as an opportunity that could coincidentally help us move in the right direction there.

Marryatt said the company is also becoming more focused from a managed service perspective longer term with JFrog.

"Alignment to enterprise is the way we look at it - tier one, tier two businesses that are moving in that pathway that need very strong controls, very strong auditability and automation in what we call infrastructure as code or IAC models," he told techpartner.news.

"That's where JFrog plays very well and they're very well renowned in the security space too."

Speaking to techpartner.news following the partnership announcement, Rao reiterated the value they saw in TL Consulting’s partnership with GitHub, the code repository that many organisations pull from during product development.

“The partnership just made sense [in] that TL Consulting would create that ecosystem of helping with the change management and process improvements so that customers can make the most of both these technologies," he said.

Rao explained that although JFrog was used widely throughout the region, its partner network is still relatively nascent, and that TL Consulting was named as an early partner because it operates in a “sweet spot” of enterprises adopting JFrog with data.

He added that the company is working on further local partnerships in areas where JFrog integrates with other third-party systems, with global system integrator partnerships that will be replicated in Australia for larger enterprise transformation projects.

“In those cases, the system integrator may do the consulting effort while we sell the platform directly to the enterprise, he said.

"In other cases, they may wrap the entire ecosystem over to the enterprise themselves. But I would say that's kind of the journey we are on.”

Rao said that the company will also be targeting partners who serve certain verticals.

“There will be certain partners who have built a niche in those industries, and there will be certain platforms that are used in those industries, and I think that's what we are mapping out – to build those best partnerships," he explained.
