Sydney-based IT and security specialist firm The Missing Link has hired former Amaysim IT director Lee Booy as its first chief technology officer.
Booy joins Missing Link at a time of growth and change for the company, with chief executive Alex Gambotto saying the CTO hire was a key element of that process.
“At The Missing Link we have always strived to be leaders and authorities in the environment we work in. We enjoy working with clients on new and exciting projects that add value to their respective businesses,” Gambotto said.
“Hiring Lee was the next step in our evolution as a premier ICT solutions provider. After 20 years in the ever-changing IT landscape, further skills in our technical senior leadership team made sense. Our growth continues to humble us and we want to further push the boundaries for our clients and staff.”
During his four-year tenure at Amaysim, Booy saw the company move from a startup to a publicly listed company with more than a million customers. As IT director he oversaw Amaysim’s move to the cloud, developed a innovation-focused engineering culture and promoted gender diversity.
“I am only happy when I’m moving – innovating, problem-solving and driving change,” Booy said. “Success in these areas is another beast, change management in itself is a challenge, but is overcome with transparent communication and empathy. I look forward to applying my experience to The Missing Link and the challenges it throws at me.”
Since joining the Missing Link team he has rolled out new internal and external communication tools and revamp the technical team structure.
The reseller's security spin-off, The Missing Link Security, was ranked No.1 in the 2016 CRN Fast50 after growing 333.26 percent to reach revenues of $11.5 million.
