Thales names VP of cybersecurity services for ANZ

Tania Balcombe has taken over as Thales' VP of cybersecurity services for ANZ.

She joins from NTT, where she served as CEO between October 2020 to July 2024.

Prior to this, she served a 10-year stint at Dimension Data, with her last role there being CMO.

Jeff Connolly, CEO of Thales ANZ, said in a post on LinkedIn that Balcombe has "extensive experience leading large-scale organisations through transformation and driving operational success".

"Tania’s appointment comes at a critical time – she will guide our ongoing long-term plan to build the Thales ANZ Cybersecurity business into a team with the specialist skills to secure our nation across many domains," he said.

"To achieve this, she will leverage the technology leadership of the Global Thales cyber businesses for the ANZ-specific context. With an increasingly contested cyber domain, the work of the Thales ANZ Cybersecurity team is as critical to Australia as the work of our teams who directly support the nation’s Defence Force."
