Sydney-based collaboration provider Telegate is deploying browser-based phones with Web RTC technology.
Web real-time communications (RTC) technology allows the connection between a phone line and a browser.
Users can log in from any location with a username and password as long as they have a computer, internet access and a compatible browser. No configuration is required.
Telegate chief executive Tiernan O'Connor said: "It allows you to make and receive calls from your browser but with all the credentials of your desktop phone."
Telegate is offering the solution as part of its PABX product. Web phone features include presence, call history, voicemail and contacts.
WebRTC is an open project supported by Google, Mozilla and Opera.
Telegate was No.18 on the 2015 CRN Fast50 growing its revenue by 73.67 percent hitting $3.1 million. Telegate has also appeared in the 2014 and 2013 editions of the Fast50.
