Telarus and EMC join forces for storage service provision
Telarus engineers will now provide certified design and deployment of EMC's CLARiiON Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) storage platform.

The national infrastructure service provider has become a recognised member of the EMC Authorised Services Network and has successfully joined EMC’s Velocity Partner Program.

The move into storage further expands Telarus' offerings in the voice, data and hosting areas. Telarus is also signing up as a partner with EMC's VMWare to build scalable virtual machine hosting platforms.

“We’re currently looking at managed storage and managed virtual servers as there’s a big push for virtualisation and cloud computing models now,” said Jules Rumsey, managing director at Telarus.

The company will initially deploy EMC's CLARiiON platforms and perform triage support functions. Rumsey said that further EMC certification in the future may enable Telarus to increase this support role.

Telarus currently has 45 active channel partners, claimed Rumsey who promised an increased focus on partner involvement.

“We are growing the channel team now and there’s a definite push within Telarus to grow what we’re doing in the channel space," said Rumsey.

"It already accounts for in excess of 50 percent of new business that we generate and we’re expecting that to grow over the next couple of years.”

As it looks to expand into storage, backup and replication, Telarus is also exploring business opportunities in New Zealand and will soon launch a new website detailing its various solutions.
