ASX listed solutions provider TechnologyOne has increased its hold in the mining sector, winning a $750,000 contract to supply Queensland based geothermal energy company with an integrated software suite.
Geodynamics has contracted TechnologyOne for the supply of financials, works and assets, human resource and payroll and project management solutions.
Geodynamics will use the software to better manage its budgets, sites, staff and projects after it experienced rapid growth as a result of its proof of concept announced earlier this year.
The proof of concept extracted heat from hydraulically stimulated hot fractured rocks to create power.
Essentially, one cubic kilometre of hot granite at 250 degrees centigrade has the stored energy equivalent of 40 million barrels of oil, but does not produce greenhouse gases.
Geodynamics' workforce has quadrupled in one year and its physical assets have also expanded.
In a statement, Geodynamics said the clincher to choose TechnologyOne was its human resources and payroll systems, in particular pointing to its requirements around Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S).
Queensland based TechnologyOne works with a number of mining companies, including coal companies Jellinbah Resources Pty Ltd in Queensland, Mitsui Coal Holdings Pty Ltd. and Felix Resources, oil company Magellan Petroleum, and distributors Reliance Petroleum, Westoil, Inland Petroleum and Dermody Petroleum.
