Synnex has partnered with electronics vendor AOPEN to help companies embrace internet of things (IoT) solutions for the retail, industrial and education sectors.
The Taiwan-based company, through its official distributor Synnex, will look to promote IoT through its embedded products, such as its Mini-OPS, digital signage and commercial Google Chrome devices.
“AOPEN’s addition to the Synnex distribution portfolio gives our resellers access to new market-leading commercial Chrome and embedded products,” Synnex Australia and New Zealand chief executive Kee Ong said.
“The agreement comes at a time when resellers are looking to their distributor to help them capitalise on the rapid explosion of IoT enablement in the ICT channel, and we are excited to rise to meet their needs in this space across several key vertical markets.”
AOPEN is an official partner of Google Chrome, which Synnex said was “a major drawcard” for the distributor, particularly with their Chromebox and Chromebase devices.
Some of its offerings, built on its MeldCX software platform, currently use IoT technologies like RFID, inventory tracking, biometrics and facial recognition.
"AOPEN has pioneered Chrome in digital signage. The customisability of Chrome is new to the industry, and represents enormous potential,” Synnex IoT sales and solution specialist Rajesh Thangaraj said.
“The Chromebox and Chromebase are already IoT ready: connected, robust, and easy to install and use.”
