Synnex Australia has announced the appointment of Thomas Tapsas to the position of director of channel sales.

In his new role, Tapsas will lead Synnex’s commercial and channel sales team to drive sales initiatives and set strategic directions for engagement.

He brings over 25 years of experience in sales, business development and leadership, having most recently served as director of retail sales at Intel - a role in which he worked with Synnex in different capacities.

"I’m incredibly thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a team that is deeply committed to its purpose and driven by strong values. In the coming months, my focus will extend beyond sales outcomes to encompass a holistic approach to business development. I aim to strategise innovative approaches, continue to nurture our people to their fullest potential, and elevate customer engagements,” Tapsas said.

“Creating an environment of empowerment for our team is paramount, as it fuels our collective success. Additionally, fostering partner collaboration through tailored channel programs and initiatives will be a cornerstone of our strategy, driving mutual growth and success. We will also embark on a journey of business transformation, embracing change and innovation to stay ahead in a dynamic market landscape."

Synnex said Tapsas' appointment follows an extensive search to identify the ideal candidate who embodies profound industry insight and aligns strongly with the company's values, business approach and strategic goals.

“Thomas has a proven track record in implementing dynamic strategies to accelerate business growth across diverse portfolios and segments. His leadership will be pivotal in guiding Synnex’s strategic direction towards emerging technologies, fortifying cybersecurity and championing a cloud-first, AI-driven approach. Alongside the team, Thomas will lead initiatives to explore new markets,” said Arthur Gimisis, CEO of Synnex in Australia and New Zealand.

“The Synnex team and I extend warm congratulations to Thomas on his appointment, and we look forward to a successful journey together at Synnex.”
