Sydney company opens workstation-as-a-service 'hotel'

Customers 1to1 has launched a physical 'contact centre-as-a-service' centre in northern Sydney.

The 200-seat Contact Centre Hotel is located in the suburb of St Leonards and growing businesses short of office space can lease five to 200 seats on a daily rate.

The workstations are equipped with a computer, broadband network link and telecommunications services supported through Genesys' cloud-based contact centre technology platform.

"Many companies grow rapidly and find they need additional contact centre seats in impossibly short lead times to support their operations. Our facility provides them with immediate access to this valuable resource," Contact Centre Hotel chief executive Barry Cottrill said.

According to the provider, the facility will suit organisations needing short- to medium-term contact centre capacity for campaigns and projects. The space also includes access to meeting rooms, lunch areas and car parking.

Cottrill said that use of the hotel means companies won't have the burden of building and operating a facility and that leasing on a per-seat basis means clients know up-front how much their contact centre resource will cost.

Seats are charged on a daily rate, inclusive of internet and telecommunications costs, according to the provider. Additional seats can be leased and linked directly to the back-end systems of the hotel.

"Building a new centre is a multi-million dollar commitment and, as such, requires significant senior management oversight. Using an on-demand facility makes it a much less risky endeavour as capacity can simply be given up at the end of the agreed lease period," said Cottrill.

Customers 1to1 was established in 1999 and has a dedicated team that operates in a cloud based multi-channel environment. The company integrates voice, web, email, and web chat.
