SoftGen signs up three new Astaro partners

Shift Computer Solutions in Queensland, CRS Provisioning in Sydney and Cypher Tech in Sydney will resell products from UTM vendor, Astaro.

SoftGen is also in talks with another reseller partner.

Astaro announced SoftGen as a 'sub-distributor' in September 2008 and in response to the market growth the vendor has promoted SoftGen to 'full distributor' alongside TechPlus.

Guy Coles, SoftGen general manager, said the signing of the new Astaro partners was a strategic decision in response to market demand.

"We see this appointment as an opportunity to aggressively take Astaro to the Australian market and add value by having trained engineers that can assist our resellers in their implementations," said Cole.

"Where resellers can wrap their services around Astaro, they can add their service offerings to the client and therefore increase their income streams with the added service.

"Astaro is a best-of-breed solution, and this is clearly shown by the large number of reseller partners that have come on board with us in the last few weeks," he added.

Cole said the company was looking for partners that had a deep understanding of security and UTM in the Australian market.

He added that the appointment illustrates the strong demand in the market for security and in particular a complete range of integrated solutions, despite the slowing economy.

In September 2008,  Bryan Stibbard, VP Sales for APAC and Japan at Astaro announced a 300 percent channel growth and plans to expand this portfolio further in 2009 as a result of market demand for UTM solutions.
