Australian neocloud provider Sharon AI has inked a five-year, US$1.32 billion (A$1.88 billion) cloud computing service agreement with an unnamed global artificial intelligence lab.
Under the terms of the contract, Sharon AI expects to deploy cloud computing solutions across data centre infrastructure in New Zealand, with revenue from the contract expected to commence across the first and second quarter of 2027.
“We are excited to be deploying our first AI Factory in New Zealand,” said Sharon AI cofounder and chief executive James Manning.
“We are pleased to be deploying accelerated compute for another AI native and continue to see strong demand from enterprise, government, hyperscale [and] AI native and research customers,” he added.
Sharon AI’s total AI Factory capacity is now 132MW, of which 116MW is contracted to end customers, with more than 62,000 NVIDIA GPUs expected to be deployed by mid-2027.
Last month, Sharon AI secured US$1.6 billion (A$2.3 billion) to support the company’s previously announced six-year strategic compute collaboration with NVIDIA to deploy one of Australia’s largest 'AI Factories', including up to 40,000 Grace Blackwell GB300 GPUs.
