Security vendor Trustwave has appointed John Hines as the first-ever general manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Hines will be responsible for "driving pre-sales and sales support for enterprise and government clients", according to the company.
Trustwave was named 157th on the annual Cybersecurity 500 list in February. In April 2015, Optus' parent company Singtel acquired the vendor for US$810 million - with the brand now running as a business unit of the group.
Former executive director for Asia-Pacific Michael Petitti was responsible for Australia but has now been promoted to senior vice president for global alliances.
"I'm excited to help our clients and partners to continue this trajectory of protecting businesses from security threats," Hines said.
Hines has 23 years of experience in the IT industry across security, telecommunications and systems integration. He has worked for Accenture, Cybertrust and Verizon Enterprise Solutions, where he was managing director for Asia for the past five years.
Trustwave chief executive and president Robert J. McCullen said: "Australia is a strategic growth market for Trustwave, and John's experience and leadership will help us drive growth and accelerate adoption Trustwave solutions and services."
Trustwave's Asia-Pacific headquarters is located in Sydney. The company currently has satellite offices in Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne, and sales and engineering facilities an Auckland, New Zealand.
